Perpetual Calendar

A gift that had to be manufactured, not just designed: one object, one dieline, no second chance at the die.

TeamSolo — concept, artwork, dieline, production

The brief

A client-gift programme needed something with the studio's name on it that people would keep on a desk for years rather than a season. It had to be affordable at quantity, ship flat or nested, and survive being posted.

The move

A perpetual calendar — no year printed, so it never expires. I designed the object and its box as one problem: the same card stock, one die, and a fold sequence a person can work out without an instruction sheet.

The detail

I took it from card stock to finished box myself: concept, structure, dieline, artwork and the production conversation. The last change was a small adjustment to a tuck flap so the box closed without a crease showing on the front.

Production notes
  • Single dieline for calendar and box
  • Artwork prepared with fold, crease and bleed marks
  • Production followed through to delivery
