Alma Libre Publicaciones
The name had to come first: a psychology publisher called alma libre, free soul, and a dandelion that lets go of its seeds.
Alma Libre PublicacionesThe brief
A corporate identity for a Spanish publishing house specialising in books on psychology. There was no client and no name — the brief was my own, which made the naming part of the design problem rather than something handed to me.
The move
I named it alma libre, free soul, and then drew the thing that means it. A dandelion releasing its seeds carries the whole list a psychology imprint wants to carry — freedom, inner peace, a wish granted, coming through difficulty, beginning again — in one image nobody needs explained. The seeds break away from the head and drift across a freehand script, so the mark is never quite still.
The detail
Because the seeds are the mark, they have to survive every size and every process: drawn heavy enough to hold at business-card scale, to be cut in wood for a hanging sign, and to be blind-embossed with no colour at all. Gold, blue and green do the rest, with Pantone equivalents so a printer never has to guess.

- Naming, mark and hand-drawn script
- Three-colour system with Pantone equivalents
- Stationery, stamp, signage and blind-embossed applications
- Drawn to hold from a business card to a cut-wood sign
