Bookvoice
A whole audiobook brand — identity, launch campaign, website — designed alone in one month, on a low budget, and it won an Effie.
BookvoiceThe brief
A new audiobook service needed a launch with no time and no media budget to hide behind. It had to sound like listening, not like reading, and it had to work as small social units first, because that was the only place it was going to run.
The move
I designed the brand from the waveform out — the mark, the crops and the motion all come from the same shape sound makes. Because the plan was social-first, I designed the small units first and let the website inherit them, instead of the usual other way round.
The detail
One month, one designer, everything from the mark to the ad units and the site. It took a Bronze Effie in Low Budgets and, more usefully, a design team I got to lead afterwards.
